Safety measures for using mobile and handheld power tools
Release time: 2025-07-29
Power cords for mobile and handheld power tools must use copper-core multi-strand rubber-sheathed flexible cables or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheathed flexible cables. Cables should be kept away from heat sources and should not be dragged on the ground. When the above requirements cannot be met, measures should be taken to prevent heavy objects from crushing the cables.
Safety Precautions for Mobile and Handheld Power Tools:
1) Before powering on mobile and handheld power tools, ensure proper protective grounding or grounding is connected.
2) Mobile and handheld power tools should be equipped with separate power switches and protection. Strictly prohibit connecting two or more power tools to a single switch.
3) The power switch for mobile power tools should use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) with an operating current no greater than 15mA and an operating time less than 0.1s. The switch should be installed in an easily accessible location. The distance between the switch and the tool should not exceed 5m.
4) When connecting mobile and handheld power tools using sockets, the plugs and sockets should be undamaged, free of cracks, and have good insulation.
5) When using mobile power tools, if you need to leave the site, pause work, or encounter a sudden power outage, turn off the power switch.
6) Mobile and handheld power tools should be equipped with a high-sensitivity ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
7) The power cords for mobile and handheld power tools must use copper-core multi-strand rubber-sheathed flexible cables or PVC-sheathed flexible cables. The cables should be kept away from heat sources and should not be dragged on the ground. If these requirements cannot be met, measures should be taken to prevent heavy objects from damaging the cables.
8) When moving mobile and handheld power tools, do not hold the power cord or rotating parts.
9) After using mobile and handheld power tools, always disconnect the power at the power source.
10) When changing drill bits on power tools, always wait until the tool has completely stopped rotating.
11) When using handheld power tools, wear insulated gloves or stand on an insulated platform.
